What is a Gate Conveyor?
By using a gate conveyor, staff will be able to rapidly gain access to machinery which would otherwise be blocked by traditional conveyors. The benefits of this conveyor include;
- Easy access to equipment
- Allowing cleaning operations to be conducted quickly
- Removing the requirement for bridges
- Ability to perform production operations on both sides of the conveyor
- Ensuring rapid emergency evacuation
The production line does not require a shutdown as the gate can be operated with the conveyor belt still operating. The latest design incorporates a mechanical latch/lock at both the open and closed points of the conveyor, providing an elegant yet simple solution to prevent creep during operation and requires minimal effort to open and close the gate. The size of the opening can be designed to any required width, typically 900mm for personnel through to 1220mm for pallets.
