L-A-C Conveyors & Automation are thrilled to announce that they now have two fully qualified CDM site safety managers
L-A-C gives a huge congratulations to two employees, Steve Cowdell and Tyrone Christie, who have completed the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course provided by HSS Training.
This qualification enables L-A-C to manage the safety at customer sites when installing conveyor systems and automation solutions. Typical installations include belt conveyors, roller conveyors, pallet conveyors and robot pick and place systems.
By undertaking this course, the delegates have gained an understanding of health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues on construction sites. Construction has one of the highest rates of work-related illness and injury, so it’s important that businesses have individuals who will monitor the health and safety of others.
Steve Cowdell, Installations Supervisor at L-A-C, expressed his excitement of completing the course: “It was a hard course, made even harder by the fact it was all done on 5 consecutive days instead of 5 weeks, and that it was all completed online. We both aced the exams out of a combined group of 10 with a 99% and 100% pass rate! It means a lot to us both to realise that our company invests in our / its future, and It is nice to feel appreciated.”
