The Skypod System is an automated storage and retrieval system utilising small robots called Skypod that move in 3 dimensions and can reach a height of 12 metres to transport bins/trays from storage racks to operators. Designed and manufactured by Exotec in France, the Skypod system adapts easily to the real–time needs of retailers and offers them the agility they need to manage and grow their supply chain. Exotec systems are fully modular, allowing customers to deploy in a matter of months and easily expand their system without disrupting their production by simply adding robots, stations, or racks. Exotec increases warehouse throughput up to 5 times versus manual picking systems with a 2-minute response time for all SKUs.
At IMHX, visitors will be able to discover the Skypod robots in a small-scale system, designed specifically for the occasion. Experts from Exotec and L-A-C will be on–site throughout the event to present the specificities of the system and its advantages in terms of supply chain automation.
