L-A-C Conveyors & Automation are thrilled to see their first-ever electrical apprentice Cory Hoggard has been shortlisted for this year’s Apprentice of the Year award at the PPMA Group of Associations PPMA Total Show Awards in October 2019.
Cory has been involved with a variety of projects including putting together control panels and the cabling of a robotic pick and place unit for a fruit packing company. The pick and place unit also has a number of modular belt conveyors that feed fruit punnets to the unit and then send the packed boxes onto final dispatch. Cory also assisted with the cabling of a robotic de-palletiser and re-palletiser that handles chilled boxes of pizzas which are fed through a series of roller conveyors and belt conveyors for date coding before being restocked and prepared for dispatch.
With a combination of weekly day release at college and supervision, Cory is continuously developing his skills, learning to read and understand complex electrical drawings and use mechanical drawings to help assemble machinery for L-A-C’s valued customers.
L-A-C are very happy with Cory’s progress so far and impressed to see him shortlisted for apprentice of the year, a well-deserved recognition.
Good luck with the awards, Cory!
