Belt Conveyors
LAC Conveyors have produced a standard and bespoke range of conveyors, fully designed
and manufactured in-house from our facilities in Nottingham, encompassing the widest
range of applications and environments.
Flat belt conveyors are the most common and cost effective of the belt range. The
flat belt conveyor is used for an extremely wide array of applications and environments
from automotive to abattoirs. Our range of conveyors incorporates polyurethane profiles
welded to the underside, these run within guides in the skid base to ensue that
the belt stays constantly on track.
Mezzanine conveyors (or inter-floor conveyors) are designed and built to cope with
the heavy duty production or storage environment. They transfer products up and
down from second level floors. Generally with a heavy weight belt construction,
these conveyors are designed to convey products of all shapes and sizes.
Recycling conveyors are manufactured for the toughest of environments and can be
designed to handle anything from paper to scrap metal. They can utilise either cut
resistant or rubber belting mounted on chain edge conveyor for robustness or utilise
steel belts for the harshest of environments.
For the food industry conveyors we manufacture a range of conveyors all from stainless
steel, either 304 or 316 depending on application utilising FDA approved belting
with all frames and constructions crevice free and as simple as possible to allow
for simple and easy wash down and cleaning. They are suitable for all environments
from end of line packaging to the heart of the process factory.
Mesh belt conveyors are mainly used for high temperature applications such as transferring
products through tempering or cooling ovens or when handling hot product. Belts
are usually made from either steel or stainless steel with varying degrees of weave
and pitch.
A rapidly growing sector in conveying is the Plastic
Modular Belt conveyors. The belts are manufactured from either Polypropylene, Polyacetal
or Polyethylene and are extremely hard wearing and versatile. They can be manufactured
with either open or closed mesh, and can be manufactured with either grip face tops
or skid face for either accumulation or inline transfer.
Slat belt conveyors are available with either plastic or stainless steel belting.
They are similar to modular belts in there versatility and use. They are again able
to transfer product around bends using a single drive. Slat belt conveyors however
tend to be used in narrow accumulation applications such as bottling or engineering
where single lane product transfer is required.
Incline belt bonveyors are virtually the same as the flat belt conveyor, however,
they are designed to carry the product up an incline. As can be seen this could
also include sections of flat as well as inclined. Generally these conveyors will
incorporate either grip top belt or flights to make sure the product gets to the
top of the incline. They also incorporate polyurethane profiles welded to the underside,
these run within guides in the skid base to ensue that the belt stays constantly
on track.
