Gravity and Roller Powered Conveyors
LAC Conveyors have produced standard ranges of both Gravity And Powered Roller Conveyors, fully designed and manufactured in house from our facilities in Nottingham encompassing the widest range of applications and environments.
Roller conveyors can be clearly divided into three main divisions, namely:- Gravity, Lineshaft & Pallet. Gravity Roller Conveyors are used for manual handling systems (or stand alone lines), and are not powered. Lineshaft Powered Roller Conveyors are powered, and are used to handle light to medium products, such as cardboard/plastic boxes. Pallet Roller Conveyors are used for heavy duty handling, such as pallets or automotive parts. Gravity roller conveyors are generally used to convey trays, slave boards, cardboard boxes, plastic totes etc. These conveyors use the force of gravity to move products, there is no power, hence they are simple and extremely cost effective. You can either free wheel the products manually (horizontally)or include a slight decline to allow a fall over a certain distance. LAC’s gravity conveyors are extremely modular and therefore can be utilised in many ways.
The most robust and heavy duty of the powered conveyor series, predominantly used for heavier products such as pallet/drum handling and storage where the product is usually fed onto the conveyor by a machine or fork truck. Our Powered Roller Conveyors comprise of components that are designed for both heavy duty usage and flexibility. They consist of sprocketed thick walled rollers driven by chain to chain or tangential (one common chain) drive mechanism, a fully enclosed side frame and an external shaft mounted motor.
Lineshaft Powered Roller Conveyors are purposely designed to be used when situations require either the simple conveying of products or back to back accumulation with very little pressure on the leading product. Lineshaft is a light duty powered roller conveyor, handling products such as cardboard boxes, plastic tote boxes etc. Typical scenarios for the use of this type of conveyor include order picking llines/stations, production lines, packaging lines, barcoding sortation systems and obviously the simple movement of products from A to B.
Gravityflex Conveyors: As well as traditional gravity roller conveyors, we also offer our range of versatile systems. The Gravityflex roller or skatewheel conveyor is a more adaptable and flexible conveyor, which can be extended or retracted to suit the required length and can also be manipulated to form curves and bends.
