W For WonderBoy!

Freddie Housley, a pupil of Parklands Infant School in Long Eaton recently won the “W” Plate Memorial Bambino kart race division at Wombwell in South Yorkshire. Freddie had to put in some excellent driving to get himself to the top of the podium.

Young Freddie really has been travelling far and wide this season to get some tough competitive racing. Prior to his win, he took on a huge field of 34 drivers at Fulbeck in Lincolnshire where he picked up a 4th place finish, a very creditable effort from such a huge field.

Freddie and his team next travelled up to Cumbria where they did some testing and racing, this time grabbing a 3rd place podium finish at Rowrah. This was followed by a trip to Banbury in Oxfordshire to race at Shennington, finishing in 7th place of the 2nd round of the British Championships.

The 3rd round of the British Championships are being held at Larkhall in Scotland. Parklands Infant School have been very kind in allowing Freddie time off to travel to this event, good evidence to Freddie’s desire to ensure that he keeps up with his school work. Following the Scottish trip, it’s back to Fulbeck in Lincolnshire to race and then off to Llandow in South Wales and the 4th round of the British Championships.

Freddie’s commitment to kart racing means that his 7th birthday celebrations have been put on hold!
