At L.A.C. Conveyor Systems, we manufacture an extensive range of pallet conveyors. Our ten years experience in building pallet conveyors has allowed us to develop our conveyors, which have been tested and standardised and are capable of configuring complex handling solutions for a wide range of applications and industries. As conveyors for certain industries may require specific materials, we manufacture our conveyors from three materials. These include stainless steel (usually for the food industry), mild steel and plastic. We take our reputation very seriously and make ever effort to ensure our systems are delivered on time, and without issue. Most systems will be fully set up within a test area at our facility for full pre-delivery F.A.T tests and quality checks....

L.A.C. Conveyor Systems usually uses mild steel to manufacture conveyors for the non-food industries. The picture shows a shuttle/trolley conveyor, which transfers plates to a machine for fabrication. The shuttle cars move along rails which are meter in width and twelve meters in length. The cars are accurately designed, so that the unloading robot can pick up the plate.

Our engineers work hard to ensure that all conveyors are built bespoke to the exact requirement of the customer.

Customers from the food industry require hygienic conveyors which comply with health and safety regulations. This is especially important for conveyors which handle raw meat. The 3D drawing above shows a conveyor which conveys raw pork mince. The far end of the conveyor has a feature which allows the belt to be made slack, allowing it to be cleaned.  At L.A.C., we work with our customers to understand their requirements and build bespoke conveyor to satisfy their needs.

LAC is supplying a 2 metre, stainless steel, swan neck conveyor with a flight modulated belt to transport ice for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Scotland in the summer.

With a large anticipated consumption of iced beverages to keeps the fans cool whilst the action hots-up, an ice factory on site seems like a nice move.  The swan neck conveyor, with its 75mm deep flights will be able to move 50kg of ice per minute.  This is taken from the ice production units up to the bagging area and from there to storage or directly to the drinks outlets.

Delivery is due end of April allowing plenty of practice before the main event in July.

LAC has undertaken projects ranging in size from £1000 for simple A-to-B conveyors to complex, fully integrated systems, costing upwards of £3 million.

Bunches.co.uk, who deliver flowers across the UK, have taken on an additional conveyor from LAC to add to the four that it has already installed, as its business continues to increase with turnover in excess of £8 million per year. Bunches.co.uk, based in Nottinghamshire, remains a family owned business. Founded in 1989 Bunches started selling flowers under a 6 x 4 metre umbrella in a Mansfield shopping centre but now is a mail-order business delivering over 500,000 bouquets of flowers a year. Bunches has transformed in to one of the UK’s leading providers of fresh flowers delivered to the door, with 85% of their sales coming through the internet and Royal Mail delivering their bouquets across the nation. The umbrella has changed to a state of the art facility, allowing the original concept of beautiful, well chosen, well arranged fresh flowers, to be distributed widely, arriving in pristine...

LAC Conveyors has taken a order provide a roller conveyor system with gull-wing chain transfers for the front-seat assembly line at Lear Seating in Coventry for the new Jaguar. The re-circulating line allows the assembly staff to work on two seats at a time. When fully assembled the product weighs 100kg. Once the product is assembled it is taken off-line to the testing area.  This cross conveyor transfer is achieved via a pneumatic lift chain conveyor, raised on rotating cams which lifts the assembled seats using a single, hefty SMC pneumatic cylinder of 125mm bore. This was felt to give much greater accuracy than a 4-cyclinder system, which would also involve complicated and unnecessary control issues to ensure the assembly remains level. If testing proves satisfactory, the seats go back onto the main line where they will be taken to the despatch area.  Those failing the test are put back on the line...
